Visiting the actual monument, which was subject to admission, was not particularly profitable for me. But the view is great! After the quite demanding ascent to the monument, you can also save yourself climbing the tower.

Road cycling

The National Wallace Monument is one of Scotland’s most distinctive landmarks.

The stunning 220ft tower honours the famous Scottish warrior – Sir William Wallace. It took eight years to build, and was funded entirely by contributions from the public totalling more than £15,000.

Around 80,000 people made their way to the town of Stirling from all over Scotland and beyond to attend the ceremony of the laying of the Foundation Stone.
