The Ach compensation basin (also: Alberschwende compensation basin) is located below the Andelsbuch power plant in the municipality of Andelsbuch in Vorarlberg.

The distance from the Ach compensation basin to the Andelsbuch reservoir above the Andelsbuch power plant is around 500 meters as the crow flies. The compensation basin is located on the northwestern municipal border of Andelsbuch. The Bregenzer Ach runs directly past the western long side of the compensation basin. A regional footpath and cycle path runs over the north dam and the north-side half of the west dam, which crosses the Bregenzer Ach at water kilometer (GwKm) 28.20 by means of a bridge.

There are no large buildings or structures in the immediate vicinity of the Ach compensation basin, with the exception of the technical structures for power plant operation.
