We had a guide but this can be done on your own as well, it is following concrete paths most of the way. It can be slippery and passes some rocks - not recommended in flip flops. At every touristic water feature, you will have to pay a ticket of IDR 20k and there are drinks and snacks available. We walked it one way from Sudaji to Sekumpul where we got transport back.

Great hike. I loved walking through the Durian forests and having contact with the farmers and seeing village life . Beautiful scenery and by far the best hike I have done in Bali. Highly recommended. Good trail. Stunning mountain landscape.

Recommend getting a local guide, leaving by 8 in the morning for photo light and to allow ample time to enjoy the walk and other features, do the “luge” water slide, take a bathing suit, and a water proof cover for phone or GoPro, and round trip the walk if you have the physical endurance (12 km).
