The current Sanctuary of the Holy Crucifix can be considered to have originated from a sum of several volumes built over the years, with respect to which the building has gradually undergone various changes. The final expansion was completed in 1881, while the facade dates back to 1893. The current facade is decorated with a simple porch and four statues housed in niches depicting St. Anthony the Abbot, St. Aimo and Vermondo and St. John Oldrati. The interior is divided into three naves and almost the entire surface is embellished with frescoes and decorations and adorned with statues. On the sides of the main altar you can admire the two most significant frescoes, "The Last Supper" and the "Crucifixion", while "The Exaltation of the Cross" is painted on the vault. Above all, the ancient Crucifix preserved in a niche of the back altar of the right aisle is important. The memory of the same for the prodigy of 2 August 1813 is linked to the Crucifix when lightning crossed the old church leaving unharmed the participants in the festive mass who had practically entrusted themselves to the Crucifix. It is precisely for that prodigy that the same people commonly call the church "Sanctuary of the Holy Crucifix". Finally, the organ on the counter-façade is significant, dating back to the years between the 1700s. The bell tower deserves a final mention, the construction of which began in 1623 and only led to the results we see today in 1920.

Magnificent place, always pleasant even getting there via the short stretch of cobblestone that precedes it
