The Simson Mine was opened in 1848. To this day, an early 20th century steel truss mining tower that rises above the pit building has been preserved. The mining tower was declared a technical monument, now it is accessible as part of the museum exhibition.
The newly opened museum invites you to visit the exhibits right in the area of the former mine. You can see mining cages and other tools and equipment used by miners.
