The Skater I wait with longing for the Felt to freeze again. Memories of skating fun and romantic encounters make me impatient. Young and old came to skate here almost every year from miles around. I stand here as a Historical Image hoping that we can get back on the ice soon. The skater is part of two placed images, the other is 'De Turfsteker'.

'The life-size statues ... must do justice to the historical contribution that the crescent-shaped puddles have made to Beugen and the surrounding area. A peat cutter because people started painting the overgrown area around eighteen hundred. As a result, the Vilt has become open water again. The Moerbaan, a street that used to be used for the removal of peat, also runs between the two lakes. Nut is another word for peat soil.
