The route of the Autobahn 46 with some bridge pillars, underpasses and cuts in the terrain is the longest traffic ruin in Germany. Begun in 1937, construction was not resumed after World War II because a geographically much less problematic route was chosen for the later A7 between Würzburg and Fulda. Here at Gössenheim there are no remains of engineering structures to be seen. But the prepared route is recognizable and also marked here.
