The Friedenskirche was built in 1908 for the formerly independent Evangelical Lutheran congregation. With its copper-clad towers, it characterizes the cityscape of the front west. War damage repaired in a makeshift manner and acoustic defects led to a redesign of the interior (barrel vault) in the 1960s.
