Hiking

The tour guides don't like it if you do the hike without a guide. However, it is possible to do the tour alone.

Hiking

A great hike along the top of the ridge and through the tea plantation back to Old Munnar! But: We got into real trouble with two different people, one a guide and the other a plantation worker, because we didn't have a permit and were threatened with a 5,000 rupee fine. It was annoying, and only after 100 apologies did he let us go.

But again: A very worthwhile tour!
