Road cycling
At the entrance to Bubenheim, these abutments look almost like a city gate. However, this is not a fortification, but a planned and never built bridge of the Reichsautobahn from Koblenz to the Eifel (today's A 48). Construction began in the late 1930s, but was interrupted by World War II. The autobahn route was later built a few hundred meters further north.
