"Deadwood Concept in the Hübner Forest - Dung Pit Section
This 2-hectare stand, a relic of the original deciduous forests on the Bavarian Lower Main, is unique in an otherwise heavily pine-dominated environment and is of great importance from a nature conservation perspective. In 2003, the Hübners decided to forgo use, thereby promoting the preservation of valuable old and biotope trees and the retention of deadwood to protect species and near-natural forests in their mature and decaying stages. The goal is to enrich habitats by retaining conservation-grade deadwood in the stand and to secure a sufficient amount of deadwood in the forest in the medium to long term (beech with several woodpecker holes).
Protected habitat - Do not enter!
Dangerous area due to falling branches" (spessartprojekt.de/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/KW-Stockstadt-Taf-06.pdf)

The culture trail leads through the Oberhübnerwald, but some sections are overgrown here or not accessible due to forest damage.
