    Hikers and cyclists arrive here with the small ferry from the direction of El Chalten. There is a police station here on the Chilean border. Only an old smugglers' path leads through the forest and over the mountain to Lago O'Higgins. A lush meadow invites you to camp. Looking back at the silhouette of Fitz Roy from the magellanic geese in the meadow is biblical.

      From El Chalten we drove on a loose gravel road to Lago del Disito. Always along the magnificent silhouette of Fiz Roy and Pico Torre. A small ferry runs three times a day from the lake to the Chilean border. From here you can only hike and laboriously with loaded bikes over a smuggler's path and a small pass over to Chile and Lake OHiggins. When we arrived over there, we camped wildly on a beautiful meadow at the police station. When the weather is nice, this is the most beautiful campground in the world with a biblical view of the majestic mountain scenery at the end of the lake. The Fiz Roy sinks into the lake in the alpenglow and the gray-breasted geese land to mow the meadow.
