Formby Beach is a large sandy beach on the Irish Sea. Inland there is a large area of sand dune and sandy woodland which is important habitat for some rare species including the Natterjack Toad and Red Squirrel.
Managed by the National Trust but not paid entry.
Toilet, information point and several snack bars and ice cream vans on site.
The main beach close to the access points can become very busy in good weather but it doesn’t take long to walk away from the crowds.

It gets really busy around the entrance/exit to the beach from the car park. Make your visit even better by walking 300yrds up or the down the beach as you’ll have a lot more space to enjoy!
