Hiking

The most important remnant of the late medieval city fortifications and a historical landmark is the city tower at the end of Turmgasse. Later the tower functioned as a romantic addition to the palace terraces. Originally, the round tower shaft was higher, with a protruding fortified room and pointed helmet with a sentry box. Around 1800 it received its flat conical roof, which has also been renewed today.
