This is a classic Highland landscape adorned in fine scenery and rich in folklore. In his later life, Scottish folk hero and outlaw Rob Roy MacGregor called Inverlochlarig home and he died here in the 1730s.

This region, to the west of Loch Voil, is known as the Braes of Balquhidder, which was immortalised in song by Scottish Poet Robert Tannahill during the height of Romanticism. It's easy to appreciate this landscape as a muse for poetry and song. It's where the wooded glens and hills of the Trossachs meet the more rugged mountains of the Southern Highlands.
