                  In the northwest of Hamburg - in the HummelsbĂŒttler Feldmark - lies the nature reserve Raakmoor, which with its 18 hectares belongs to the smallest nature protection areas of the Hanseatic city. The current transitional moor was originally a raised bog destroyed by scouring and drainage to allow the area to be used for agricultural purposes. Knickreste and buried ditches still bear witness to it today. The monotypic plant world disappeared except for a few remnants.
                  The Raakmoor is now undergoing the first phase of renaturation after its rewetting.
