    Hiking

Ais-an t-Sìdhean was the 18th-century home of the bard Duncan Ban MacIntyre. His most renowned poem paid homage to the beauty of the nearby mountain Beinn Dorain.

Today, the place is utilised by farmers, which has a certain irony. MacIntyre was said to have hated sheep, just as John Muir did. In his poem Oran Nam Balgairean he wrote: 'My blessing be upon the foxes, because they hunt the sheep.'
