Hiking
The church, built in the neo-Gothic style between 1855 and 1857, was erected on a new plot of land that was created by artificially lowering the lake. It was also given the name "St. Mary's Church". To improve its appearance, the parish donated new interior painting in 1895.

It is the third church in Frauensee, since the first church burned down with all the monastery buildings in 1627 and the second church had to be demolished in 1854 due to dilapidation. The church stands alone on a ridge that used to be surrounded by the Frauensee.
The former monastery was called "Marienkloster" and was dedicated to Mary like today's church.
