It is good to know that, in ancient times, Buendía was protected by stone and masonry walls like many other relatively important towns. In the 15th century there were five different places, gates, to pass the wall of Buendía: the "Puerta Calzada", the "Castillo", the "Camino del Convento" (In the "Convent" area now stands the Buendía Cemetery ), La Botica (street at the end of the Arrabal) and the one located on the road to "la Isabela".

Population located to the southwest of the Buendía Reservoir and which gives its name to the dam. The population is known for its outer wall and for the Cuevas del cerro, some houses that are inside the rock!
