The old church of Saint Pierre in Lincent is a partly restored ruin and quite unique piece of heritage that can be viewed from the street but you can also get a tour inside by calling the mobile number at the entrance or by booking in advance. Today, the church/ruin is mainly used for small, usually local and cultural events, and is maintained as best as possible by a local non-profit organization, with the help of a few authorities.

The church was originally a defense tower (more like a tower for hiding during hostilities) and was built in the local tuff (tuffeau de Lincent). You will also find this tuff in various buildings in, including Hélécine (for example the beautiful Saint-Sulpice church komoot.nl/highlight/5300331 ) and in various boroughs of Landen (for example at the entrance of the Kasteelhoeve in Wang komoot.nl/highlight/5392395 ).

The old church of St. Peter that was first built on the tower was Romanesque. Gothic elements were added later. Other stones were also used to strengthen the tower and extend it into a church. This Romanesque-Gothic church ruin, which is otherwise quite empty, is very worthwhile with a very friendly guide who can tell and show you a lot about the local history and the various rocks. The municipality also organizes a "tuffeau de Lincent" walk of about five kilometers that you can find in PDF at lincent.be/images/stories/tourisme/promenade_tuffeau_2.pdf

Only visible from a distance, if the gate is not loose...
