The bell tower, built on the rocky top of the "mountain of the guard", the second summit of the Masso di San Leo, incorporating an older circular building at the base. Originally the tower, now isolated, was part of the bishop's citadel of Montefeltro, destroyed by the Malatestas in the mid-14th century.
