The Savannah History Museum is housed inside the old passenger terminal of the Central of Georgia Railway, together with the Savannah Visitor Center. The museum shows artifacts and exhibits relating to the history of Savannah from its establishment to the current time. A notable exhibition piece is the bench on which Forrest Gump sits during his bus wait and chats at Chippewa Square. The museum also explains many details about the siege of Savannah in the American Revolutionary War. The historc railway complex also features a cotton yard, a blacksmith shop, a brick viaduct and the trainshed, as well as an office car and caboose of Central of Georgia Railway.
