In the past, the steep slope was used as a ski slope. Today there is one of several airfields of the Sauerlandair e.V. for hang gliders (paragliders / hang gliders). In addition, a paragliding school is housed on the grounds (I can highly recommend taster courses to anyone).
The point (starting point for the fliers) is located on the Steinmarkskopf, from where you have a beautiful view of the Elpetal. The photo shows the terrain from the valley side.
