The group of burial mounds is located in the hall "Hallschied" between the valleys of the Sülzbach and the Kauerbach. The hills are located in the spruce forest along today's forest and forest roads. The burial ground was laid out on a tongue of land sloping to the east. The mounds are closely grouped and centered about 250 m in a NW-SE extension around a larger mound. The mounds have a diameter of 9-15 m, only one mound reaches a diameter of 20 m. Today's height varies between 0.4 and 1.9 m.

None of the burial mounds have been archaeologically examined. Presumably these are Iron Age burial sites.

Currently (01/2023) you cannot get to all the hills because they are in a fenced area (conservation).
