The hand puppet Guignol was created by the unemployed worker Laurent Mourguet in Lyon between 1810 and 1812 and is said to have his own facial features. Guignol's faithful friend is Gnafron (named after Laurent's friend), his adversary the Gendarme Flageolet.
This house was his last home, he died here in 1844.
