The Silberhütte artificial ditch is a water ditch system created for mining purposes in the central Lower Harz and is the core of the Lower Harz water system. It consists of a total of seven sub-ditches that form a 27.1 km long network. Except for a short remaining section, the entire ditch has now been drained and partially filled in, but is still visible over long stretches in the terrain.
