Red Mountain is on the way between the Grand Canyon and just before Flagstaff.
A 4km round trip leads to the sheer Red Mountain cliff, visible from the parking lot.
Before you get to the basin, you have to climb a wooden ladder.
Large dogs may find it difficult to get them up the wooden ladder.
Behind the ladder you come to the valley basin, which looks like an amphitheater to me.
Great different smooth rock formations made of lava and yellow-red sandstone await you.
The tour is ideal if you want to stretch your legs between the Grand Canyon and Flagstaff/Sedona.
