Not to be confused with the Kootenai Lakes up in Glacier National Park, these lakes are found at the end of the Kootenai Creek Trail in the Bitterroot Range. It's a long hike to reach the lakes from the trailhead, with a return journey taking the best part of a day's hiking. However, your reward is a lovely group of alpine lakes.
