The House of Medicinal Plants of Flobecq is a place dedicated to the discovery of therapeutic herbs. Founded in an old converted school, this house offers an educational and multisensory journey tracing the history of medicinal plants since Antiquity. The garden has more than 100 species of plants, a conservatory orchard and a 4.5 kilometer nature trail dotted with sculptures.

Since the 16th century, Vloesberg (Flobecq) has been known for the cultivation of medicinal herbs. Pierre Ricard, a famous herbalist from the past, even opened his garden and shop in Le Pays des Collines. Today, La Maison des Plantes médicinales puts that flowery past in the spotlight through an exhibition that gives an overview of the history of therapeutic herbs since Antiquity. 80 species of medicinal plants are grown in the garden (ask for the visitor's guide). La Maison des plantes médicinales is much more than an exhibition space and a garden : one can also obtain tourist information about the region and there is a shop specializing in plant-based products (angelica for example), a bar and… a restaurant with terrace! At L'Histoire des Mets, Sylvie introduces you to a refined cuisine based on medicinal plants and essential oils. Also discover the sculptures by Jean-François Massart along Le Circuit artistique des plantes médicinales (4.5 km, departure from the Plein in Vloesberg) and two other gardens with medicinal plants : Le Jardin de la Grange in Ellezelles and the garden of the Gasthuis Our Lady of the Rose in Lessines.
