Since 1985, the Pressecker Knockturm of the Franconian Forest Association has offered a wonderful panoramic view that should not be missed! You can confidently trust the 20 meter high wooden construction: It is made of sturdy Franconian spruce! The Knockturm is open during the hiking season, otherwise you can get the key in the local town hall or in the local inns.

The Pressecker-Knock-Turm on the outskirts of Presseck is a popular hiking destination with a beautiful view.
The 690 meter high Pressecker Knock on the eastern outskirts of Presseck is the location of the 20 meter high observation tower. The hexagonal wooden construction with outer pillars is the landmark of Presseck.
The first tower was built in 1933 and for years it was the destination of many hikers. The time of the Second World War and the years after the war, however, lacked the necessary maintenance, so that the tower had to be closed.
In accordance with the wishes of all friends of home and hikers, the second tower was opened on October 5th, 1952 with the words “This is how the tower stands in Frankenwalde, despite all the weather and hardships, a symbol of home, a reminder to care for your home, to love your home and loyalty to your home ! ”Will be inaugurated.
But the wooden construction simply meant that it didn't last forever and that another new tower had to be built in 1985.
In 2003, a general renovation was necessary again, actively supported by the local branch in Presseck.
When the visibility is good, the view extends far in all directions: in the northwest to the Bleßberg near Eisfeld in the Thuringian Forest, in the north to the Schnaider Platte, in the northeast to Grubenberg near Schwarzenbach am Wald, in the east to the Großer Kornberg in the Fichtelgebirge, in the southeast to the Königsheide in the Fichtelgebirge, in the south to the Sophienberg near Bayreuth, in the southwest to the Staffelberg and in the west to the Radspitze.
When the midsummer bonfires in the Franconian Forest flare up on the longest day of the year, you can see 12 to 14 midsummer bonfires at the same time from the viewing platform.

The Pressecker Knock Tower, a lookout tower of the Frankenwaldverein e.V., offers a beautiful view over the Franconian Forest.
