The tower of the Saint-Jacques-le-Majeur church was actually used to defend a 13th-century gatehouse. However, this was already the successor of a 10th century tower that belonged to the fortifications of the village. In the 16th century the tower was rebuilt into a bell tower. In 1901 a clock was installed to inform the village about the time of day.
