Tunnel Hausen II, which belonged to the railway line Koblenz Lützel to Mayen Ost, went into operation on November 12, 1904 and is 253 m long.
But as early as the 1970s, the section from Polch to Mayen Ost was closed to freight traffic due to damage to the superstructure and the poor condition of both of the Hausen viaducts. On November 9th, 1983, passenger traffic was also closed on the entire route.
