Polder Achthoven (118 hectares) is located between Lexmond and Ameide. The nature reserve consists of moist grasslands full of flowers, rough grasslands, forests and a single pilot whale. The Zuid-Hollands Landschap has excavated many plots in recent years. As a result, special species now grow in the grasslands, such as marsh cartel leaf, broad orchid, reed orchid and flesh-colored orchid. A duck decoy is hidden in the elongated strips of forest. A decoyman used to catch wild ducks here. The beautiful, old pollard willows attract ruffed redstarts. Hawks, falcons and tree creepers fly in the woods. At dusk you often see deer in the grasslands. Parts of the nature reserve are open. There is a walking route through it.
