Wall runner via ferrata near Garmisch-Partenkirchen

The difficulty is often given as D/E on the Internet. At the entrance there is an old sign with category D. The most unpleasant point is the entrance. Here the steel cable hangs quite loosely, so that you cannot simply climb up on friction. After that, the steel cable is always nice and tight. Anyone who has managed to get started without any problems can also trust themselves to do the rest. After that there are two more difficult sections: a longer steep wall and a mini overhang. As a fun element, the via ferrata offers a wire rope ladder and a two-rope bridge. But neither is really difficult.

The most difficult part of the ascent is not to run euphorically from the mountain station of the cable car straight up to the mountains, but instead to branch off to the left (no sign at this point) onto the wide path.

The way back via Nordwandsteig is a beautiful alpine climb with wire ropes, ladders and tunnels. Of course, you no longer need the via ferrata set here. However, it is advisable to leave the helmet on.

Here are my times with plenty of breathers:
    about 30 minutes ascent
    0:00 entry
    0:34 80 meter mark
    0:50 ladder
1:17 overhang in front of the rope bridge
    1:33 Summit
    about 1 hour descent

Demanding and energy-sapping D/E-KS due to long, steep sections (sometimes with an overhang), large distances between the rope hooks, loose rope and sections with little tread. Feels a little heavier than, for example, the Kaiser Max Steig.

I recommend taking a sling with you.
