Mountain biking
The Ribeira da Bensafrim stream is of huge importance to the water supply in the region, it being the main watercourse in the City of Lagos. This stream flows directly into the Bay of Lagos, after covering 15 km from the Serra de Espinhaço de Cão, and results from the joining of several smaller watercourses and mounds, such as Ribeira da Machada, Corte do Bispo, Sabrosa and Candeeira. This bridge has lots of car traffic because it is on the N125, but there is a separate, fenced-off lane for pedestrians and cyclists.
