Oda Nobunaga fought against his younger brother Nobuyuki Shibata Katsuie, Hayashi Mimasaka, and others in this area (present-day Nazuka-cho and Ino-cho areas) and won, making a big step towards the unification of Owari. It is said that the spirits of the dead in this battle were enshrined in Koshinzuka, but it is also a remnant of Koshin belief.
