The Chassékazerne is a design by W. Cool. The main building is of the linear type with four rear wings for the alloying of enlisted men. Unlike other barracks of this type, the rear wings are two storeys high, doubling the enlistment capacity for men. The architectural style is a mixture of Neo-Renaissance and Neo-Gothic style. The latter style is quite unusual in Dutch barracks.

The expansions of 1938-1939 were realized under the responsibility of Chief Engineer Major J. Zwart. They were drawn by the fortification supervisor J.M. Mante. The facade detailing was partly provided by technical officer P.J. Kleemans. These extensions, including those on the Kloosterkazerne, were all in traditionalist style, also known as Delft School style.
