Swallow Falls is one of the highest continuous waterfalls in Wales. It comprises a series of beautiful cascades on the River Llugwy, approximately one mile east of Betws y Coed, on the way to Capel Curig and just off the A5. The falls are surrounded by lush woodland. Swallow Falls is a breathtaking natural wonder that attracts thousands of visitors each year. Visitors can view the falls from a viewing platform. The viewing platform is open all year round and admission costs £2 (cash or credit card).

The best way to see this spectacular waterfall on the Afon Llugwy is from the northern bank. You follow a narrow, dramatic path with crags overhead and a forbidding abyss below. If that sounds a bit challenging, though, you can also view from the south bank with the convenience of ample parking along the A5 and within the hotel car park. It costs £2 per person to enter and there is no card machine currently. It is a great place for exploring and is much-loved by photographers.

It’s well worth the walk down to the falls rather than parking across the road. The woodlands en route are beautiful.
