    Battle of Rajsko, Battle of Rajsko - fights on September 4, 1939 in the village of Rajsko near Oświęcim, between the Wehrmacht and Polish troops. It was one of the border battles of the Polish defense war in 1939.

    On the map showing Polish and German forces in September 1939, Rajsko is located in the middle of the section Pszczyna - Zator, 3 kilometers north of this line.

    On the Polish side, under the command of Major Piotr Ryba (nominally the commander of the 1st Battalion of the 16th Infantry Regiment), soldiers of the 1st and 4th Battalions and an anti-tank platoon from the 16th Infantry Regiment, an artillery battery from the 6th Light Artillery Regiment, three platoons of the ON (National Defense) company "Kęty ” and soldiers from other detachments (12th and 20th infantry regiments).

    On the German side, under the command of General Heinrich von Vietinghoff, units of the 5th Armored Division, part of the VIII Army Corps, Army Group "Süd" (south) took part in the fighting.
