The church of S. Maria di Campagna is named, together with others, as the branch chapel of the Parish Church of S. Bartolomeo di Chiarano, in a manuscript by the architect. Vat. collect. 200 fol. 8, under the date 8 June 1334; as well as in a pastoral visit of 1545. It seems to have been erected or considered a parish since 1510. Pope Leo Venice who provided for the care of souls through their priests. Once the Augustinians were suppressed in 1773, the Venetian Republic sold the patronage to the Zeno family of Venice. The old church, now demolished, dates back to around 1650 and was only consecrated on 25 June 1826 by Bishop Jacopo Monico; the bell tower dates back to before 1688. The new church, designed by the architect. L. Candiani of Treviso, was begun on 9 March 1955 and opened to the public in September 1962.

The church, built between 1954 and 1962 by the architect. L. Candiani, stands in front of the ancient church which no longer exists, of which the bell tower remains through which the sacred building was accessed and probably dates back to 1650.
