The organization of the construction of the church was wisely thought out. During the Sunday mass, the priest read out the numbers of rafting boats. Raftsmen who sailed in these numbers had a day off from rafting at that time and were working on the construction of the church. Their sacrifice was enormous. Within four years, a beautiful, modern temple was built. Some of them worked for many days without pay during this time. (...) On Saturdays, the necessary work was performed by men employed in state-owned companies. In order to understand the enormity of the difficulties associated with the construction of the church, it must be remembered that it was a time of social tension.
The effects of martial law were felt in Poland. As a reminder to the younger generation - everything at that time was rationed. The rations were cement, lime, bricks, reinforcement wire, etc. However, there were people working in the Commune Office who helped in obtaining the necessary materials.
