In 1406, the stonemason Peter von Perchtoldsdorf is named as the builder of the church. The western shield wall, to which the hospital buildings were attached, is crowned by a gable roof turret with a stone pyramid helmet placed over a corner. The interior is covered by a net vault with partially curved ribs. In the west bay, a gallery that was originally accessible from the hospital buildings has been moved in via a central support.

Hiking

The hospital and church were damaged during the Turkish siege of Vienna in 1529, but were reconsecrated in 1587 after they had been restored. The hospital was closed in the course of Josephinism in 1784, the church itself was profaned and rededicated in 1824 after restoration. The current neo-Gothic interior dates from around 1900.

In 2007, the sculpture "Angel Fall" by Robert Colnago was attached to the west facade of the hospital church.
