This town is undoubtedly steeped in history, as it was the place from which Columbus' caravels departed, whose story everyone knows. The well-known Port of Palos, where the open-air museum with the replicas of the caravels is located today, is not the same as 500 years ago, as the Lisbon earthquake in 1755 changed the topography of the coast. In any case, this town and its surroundings represent more than 500 years of history linked to the sea, but even more importantly, to that event that completely changed the world.
