    The Tagus River, the longest in the Iberian Peninsula, is born here and will cross it for more than 1,000 kilometers until it reaches Lisbon, where it will flow into the Atlantic Ocean. Near the Montes Universales, the source of the river has been marked by the monument made by José Gonzalvo Vives in 1974 to pay homage to this important river that is highly valued and used throughout its entire course.
