The large forest area on the Huberücken offers many hiking opportunities on the outskirts of Einbeck. The city forest on the Hube, one of many mountain ranges in the Lower Saxony mountains, offers a beautiful natural landscape and is a great destination for hikes and walks through the forest. Today the city forest serves primarily as a local recreation area and is managed according to the LÖWE criteria (long-term ecological forest development). Circular hiking trails are signposted by the city forestry office and set up on display boards on the Hube, on the Teichenweg in the eastern part of Einbeck and on the Eichendorffallee on the eastern edge of the Borntal.
