There was supposedly once a spring at the Frauenreisach (pronounced Frauenreisig, meaning "women's forest") near Prölsdorf. Every morning, a snake wearing a golden crown on its head would come and bathe in this spring. It would always place the crown before bathing, placing it on a fine white booklet it had brought with it.Once, while the snake was bathing, someone is said to have taken the cloth and crown and run away with it. The snake pursued him, but because he was walking in zigzags, it couldn't reach him. From then on, the spring dried up, and the snake was never seen again.
