Wizard Island is an volcano within a volcano. When Crater Lake filled with rain water and water from melting snow over centuries, there was no Wizard Island in the beginning. Due to a minor eruption, the island was shaped and is one of the most taken pictures in Oregon.

There is a hiking trail on Wizard Island, but the ferry to the trailhead might not be running every year.
