Alt-Schieder on the western slope of the Kahlenberg consists of a 4.2 ha main bailey and an older 1.7 ha outer bailey. Based on the excavation results, the use of the main castle is dated to the early 11th to the 13th century. Only the remains of the ramparts and ground elevations remain from the complex.
