The Meestersmolen is a wooden windmill, built around 1760 in Gijverinkhove and protected as a monument since 1943. It was operational until 1954.

René De Meester, mayor of Oostvleteren, bought the post mill in 1963 and donated it to the municipality of Oostvleteren in 1968. It was not until 1973 that the dilapidated mill was dismantled, restored and rebuilt in Oostvleteren next to the current meeting center 'De Sceure'. The closed base, such as in Gijverinkhove, was not rebuilt.

The mill is ready for milling again and can be visited with expert explanation from millers.
