In 2012 a new toposcope was installed here at the highest point in Torrs Park. It was designed by students from Ilfracombe Arts College and depicts local landmarks and wildlife.

The previous marker was vandalised and stolen . The National Trust's funding of the project to build a new one shows just how important a local landmark it is.
